On Monday I got my fishing adventure organised and I went out with Janis who worked at a local fishing store and Valarie, who was his friend. I got up at 4.30am and we were on the water by about 5.30 fishing for pike. The first place we went to was amazingly beautiful, with huge pines all around. Photos soon! I was a little surprised when, instead of going out on a tinnie, we all got a small rubber dinghy each with a couple of oars and off we went. We spent about 7 hours there but didn’t get anything, so in the afternoon we headed off to Valaries property where there was some good carp fishing. Around here they actually eat carp. I didn’t get any carp but got a nice trout and a small perch which made for much better eating. We fished till sundown hoping for a mammoth carp but we never got one, although Janis got a small carp. We headed off and I got home about 10pm exhausted.
